Strategic Primer assistive programs release, development report, and roadmap (0.4.9016-rc2)

It’s again been more than a month since I made the first release candidate for version 0.4.9016 of the suite of assistive programs for players and Judges of Strategic Primer, and in that time I’ve implemented a few new features and done a lot of refactoring. It’s again past time for a new snapshot release, so today I’ve packaged version 0.4.9015.2, containing only bug fixes and the like since 0.4.9015.1 (and only three commits at all, which is few enough that I will briefly explain each individually below), and version 0.4.9016-rc2, containing those fixes, the other changes described below, and more. You can download either version on GitHub, at those links, as usual. Continue reading

Strategic Primer assistive programs release, development report, and roadmap (0.4.9016-rc1)

It’s been over a month since I released version 0.4.9015 of the suite of assistive programs for players and Judges of Strategic Primer, and in that time I’ve implemented a few significant new features and done heavy refactoring. It’s past time for a new snapshot release. So today I’ve released version 0.4.9015.1, containing only the bug fixes since 0.4.9015, and version 0.4.9016-rc1, containing those bug fixes and all the features and other changes described below (and more). You can download either version on GitHub, at those links, as usual. Continue reading

Strategic Primer assistive programs release, development report, and roadmap (0.4.9015)

It’s been about a month since the last release candidate of the suite of assistive programs for players and Judges of Strategic Primer, and despite the “code churn” in the last month I’m confident enough to declare the current state of the code as “0.4.9015 final.” So today I’ve released version 0.4.9014.4, the last “point release” including all bug fixes since 0.4.9014 but none of the new features, and version 0.4.9015, including all the features and fixes of 0.4.9015-rc3 and described below. You can download either version on GitHub, at those links, as usual. Continue reading

Strategic Primer assistive programs release, development report, and roadmap (0.4.9015-rc3)

In the three months since the previous release candidate and point release, there have been a number of mostly-minor improvements to the suite of assistive programs for players and Judges of Strategic Primer. I had hoped this would be “version 0.4.9015 final,” but in addition to a number of unambiguous “fixes,” I added enough new features and such that I didn’t feel comfortable marking it as such yet. Next time, I expect. Perhaps even this very code might just be relabeled, if it proves solid enough. I’ve made a new “point release,” version 0.4.9014.3, that includes the bug fixes described below and those in 0.4.9014.2 but not any new features beyond 0.4.9014, and also a release candidate for 0.4.9015 as I was mentioning. You can download them from GitHub (at those links) as usual. Continue reading

2017 Goals Third Quarter Report: Shine Cycle

Another quarter, and another month, has flown by. I began my quarterly “check” of my goals for the year with Saturday’s post, but reserved some of my goals for separate consideration, as I did after the first and second quarters. Today, a look at my goals related to the Shine Cycle, my fantasy series-in-preparation. Continue reading
