Strategic Primer 2018 Goals Review

As another year draws to a close, I’m again taking a look back at my goals and plans for the year that was and setting new goals for the future. In light of the strengths and weaknesses of my approach this past year, this year I’m only going to set and publicly announce goals for a quarter at a time, instead of setting grand plans for the entirety of 2019. I’m also not going to set any formal goals related to Strategic Primer, since in my task-planning deliberations these last weeks I’ve decided that other than items that are waiting on someone else’s input for me to be able to make progress, it’s a better use of my limited time to allocate it to other projects. Which is not to say I won’t spend “unbudgeted time” on Strategic Primer, but I’ll consider any progress a bonus instead of trying to set a minimum. I’ll look at my “miscellaneous” 2018 goals, and set new ones for all my projects other than the Shine Cycle (and Strategic Primer), on Saturday, and wrap up with a look at my Shine Cycle progress and new goals on Monday. Second-Trimester 2018 Strategic Primer Goals Check

For the past week, I’ve been belatedly looking back over the past four and eight months to see how I’m doing on my goals for the year, starting with my “miscellaneous” goals on Saturday and continuing with my Shine Cycle goals on Monday. Today, a look at my goals relating to Strategic Primer. Continue reading “Second-Trimester 2018 Strategic Primer Goals Check”

Strategic Primer assistive programs release, development report, and roadmap (0.4.9015-rc3)

In the three months since the previous release candidate and point release, there have been a number of mostly-minor improvements to the suite of assistive programs for players and Judges of Strategic Primer. I had hoped this would be “version 0.4.9015 final,” but in addition to a number of unambiguous “fixes,” I added enough new features and such that I didn’t feel comfortable marking it as such yet. Next time, I expect. Perhaps even this very code might just be relabeled, if it proves solid enough. I’ve made a new “point release,” version 0.4.9014.3, that includes the bug fixes described below and those in 0.4.9014.2 but not any new features beyond 0.4.9014, and also a release candidate for 0.4.9015 as I was mentioning. You can download them from GitHub (at those links) as usual. Continue reading “Strategic Primer assistive programs release, development report, and roadmap (0.4.9015-rc3)”

Strategic Primer 2017 Review, 2018 Goals

As the year draws to a close, I am again looking back to the goals I set a year ago, and forward to set new goals for 2018. I began with goals related to the Shine Cycle yesterday; today, I’ll consider Strategic Primer, the strategy game I’ve been developing in one form or another for many years, starting with the goals I set back in January. Strategic Primer assistive programs release, development report, and roadmap (0.4.9015-rc2)

It’s been over a month since the previous release candidate and point release of the suite of assistive programs for players and Judges of Strategic Primer. In that time I’ve made some somewhat significant fixes and new features, so it’s past time for a new release candidate. I’ve made a new “point release,” version 0.4.9014.2, that includes the bug fixes described below and those in 0.4.9014.1 but not any new features beyond 0.4.9014, and also a release candidate for 0.4.9015. You can download them from GitHub (at those links) as usual. Continue reading “Strategic Primer assistive programs release, development report, and roadmap (0.4.9015-rc2)”

Strategic Primer assistive programs release, development report, and roadmap (0.4.9015-rc1)

It’s been nearly a month since the last release of the suite of assistive programs for players and Judges of Strategic Primer, and I’ve continued to improve these programs as I found need. So it’s time to make a new release, or at least a new “release candidate.” I’ve made a new “point release,” version 0.4.9014.1, that includes the bug fixes described below but not any new features, and also a release candidate for 0.4.9015. You can download them from GitHub (at those links) as usual. Continue reading “Strategic Primer assistive programs release, development report, and roadmap (0.4.9015-rc1)”

Strategic Primer assistive programs release, development report, and roadmap (0.4.9014)

It’s been a little more than a month since the last release candidate of the suite of assistive programs for players and Judges of Strategic Primer, so as I’ve continued to work to improve the code, and have tested it myself on all the major platforms it’s designed to run on, I’ve declared its current state to be version 0.4.9014. You can download the release from GitHub as usual. Continue reading “Strategic Primer assistive programs release, development report, and roadmap (0.4.9014)”
