Last summer, I collected essentially everything that was then recent and possibly important for players of Strategic Primer, in a post I called NEWS. My year-end retrospective last November served essentially the same purpose. And it’s now past time for another look at recent “NEWS.”
On the other hand, there has been very little that is likely to be relevant to players since the year-end retrospective the week before Advent, so today’s list includes a few items from between that and last August’s NEWS post.
First, again, the “global exposition”. I think it could make an interesting addition to the game, and help address some concerns or complaints players have made in the past. But because the game is more than complex enough already, I don’t want to add this “new twist” without player support.
Second, a new sample strategy that players can use as a model.
Players should, on the other hand, perhaps be aware (as I mentioned in the Christmas Day development report) that hunting, fishing, and gathering now have a chance to come up with game or crops from slightly farther afield than before.
Lastly, I should mention my post reviewing 2013 and setting goals for 2014.
That’s “the news,” except for any new features that will be included in next week’s release.
