Strategic Primer: Computer version progress

On Wednesdays I write about my strategy game, Strategic Primer.

Every few weeks I plan to make the week’s post about Strategic Primer be a development-progress report on what I’ve been doing in my implementation of the computer version of the game. Like using Pivotal Tracker to track features, I hope that this will, God willing, help keep me making progress.

As of when I prepared this post, all the necessary server-side support was there for a first real client. There’s already a “simple client” (according to its class name), but that just starts a server if one isn’t running, tests that everything works, and tells it to quit. But by the time you read this, I will most likely have a client that can load and display to the user an arbitrary map. In other words, something that is actually (if minimally) usable.
