History
In the first campaign of Strategic Primer, my strategy game, I developed programs to help me run the game. Since then, I’ve made several revisions to the kinds of advances that can be discovered, among many other changes in what I call “the middle period.” Much more recently I had to decide whether to add Skills as a new advance category.
I have some long range plans for the design of the game, and also some alternate directions I considered taking but decided against.
Since beginning the current campaign, I’ve developed a story for the initial situation, and learned various lessons, as I reflected in a mid-campaign retrospective.
I’m gradually posting an annotated version of the log of the first campaign.
